Hernia? Kitten? I am such an ignorance!

Had a chat with my sister in law. Her new kitten Oshin, is warded at the vets clinic. Why? Because she suffered from HERNIA. I never knew that Hernia can attack kittens and I never knew what is the meaning actually....such an ignorance I am...

What is Hernia?
An abnormal protrusion, or bulging out, of part of an organ through the tissues that normally contain it. In this condition, a weak spot or opening in a body wall, often due to laxity of the muscles, allows part of the organ to protrude.
A hernia may develop in almost any part of the body; however, the muscles of the abdominal wall and colon are most commonly affected.
